ContactSifter — Privacy Policy

ContactSifter is a Chrome extension that helps you triage your own LinkedIn connection requests. It is private by default: no backend of its own, no accounts, and no analytics or telemetry. The information it reads from LinkedIn is processed locally on your screen and is never sent to us. The only data that leaves your browser is what your payment provider needs to process your subscription (see Subscription & billing below).

What the extension reads

When you are on your LinkedIn invitation manager (linkedin.com/mynetwork/invitation-manager), ContactSifter reads the information LinkedIn has already rendered on each connection-request card — the sender's name, headline, mutual connections, and similar public details — in order to score and label each request locally on your screen.

If you deliberately hover over a request's score pill, the extension may fetch that one person's LinkedIn profile page (the same page you could open yourself) to read additional public details such as location and school. This request:

• is initiated by you, one person at a time, only on hover;
• is never performed in bulk or in the background;
• goes only to LinkedIn (the site you are already signed in to), using your existing session — it is not sent to us or any third party.

What we store

• Your scoring preferences (target roles, companies, schools, locations, experience range) are stored using Chrome's storage.sync, which keeps them in your own Google/Chrome profile. We never receive them.
• Fetched profile details are held only in memory for the current page and are discarded when you close or reload the tab. Nothing is written to a server.

Subscription & billing

ContactSifter is a paid subscription. Payments are handled entirely by ExtensionPay and Stripe — we never see or store your card details. When you subscribe, the email address and payment information you enter on their secure checkout are processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe to manage your subscription. The extension only checks your subscription status to unlock its features; it does not share your LinkedIn activity or scoring data with them, or with anyone. Their handling of your billing data is governed by their own privacy policies.

What we do NOT do

• We do not run any server, database, or API of our own that receives your data.
• We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or error-reporting services.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your LinkedIn data or scoring preferences to anyone.
• We do not collect personal information about the people whose requests you review.

Permissions

• storage — to save your scoring preferences in your own browser profile.
• Host access to linkedin.com — so the extension can read the request cards and (on your hover) the single profile you choose to enrich. The extension has no access to any other website's content.
• Host access to extensionpay.com — used only by the licensing layer to verify your subscription and handle checkout.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the new version will ship with the extension.
